***How to handle procrastination?***

Like this post if you have ever procrastinated. Be honest!
In “How to Become a Straight-A Student” by Cal Newport, we found that even those students in top universities in the nation procrastinate.
Newport claims, “Anyone can spend five minutes to figure out what they SHOULD be doing.”
Then what is the hard part? He also gave an answer. “The real challenge is marshaling the motivation to actually do the work once it’s scheduled.”

It is important to learn to control your schedule. Without ability to manage your time, you cannot be a happy and successful student. So we’ve prepared some tips for you to manage your time!

#1. Divide big tasks into smaller tasks; smaller tasks are easier to achieve, so it should be easier for you to start working on the small tasks.
#2. Set a deadline that is actually BEFORE the due date; this can trick you into thinking that the project is due by an earlier date, therefore starting to work on it earlier.
#3. Utilize tools; Google Calendar or iCalendar (or others) are great resources to write down daily tasks! Use the time blocks to manage your time wisely.
#4. Do things with a friend; it must be harder for you to cancel on them when you have promised them that you will do it together, so ask a friend to do tasks with you!
#5. Get a little “reward” for yourself when you finish the task (for example, a small cookie -- who doesn’t love cookies?!) By rewarding yourself, the next time things come up, you will be more willing to start because you know that a sweet little treat is waiting for you at the end!
#6. Get enough sleep. An adult needs 7 - 8 hours of sleep every day. This gets you enough energy for work/studying, releases your stress, relaxes your body and strengthens your immune system.

***How to Handle Anxiety 😥***

13 days until the UC application deadline!
It is NORMAL to feel stressed.
Burnout and anxiety are normal.
BUT we need to learn about how we can face them.

We understand that it must be difficult to know how to keep yourself going when you are experiencing such feelings, so we decided to provide you with some tips to get through a period of burnout!

#1. Don’t look too far ahead. It will overwhelm you! Focus on the task that needs to be done RIGHT NOW. Break down your checklist into smaller increments, which can keep you working towards your goals.
#2. Prioritize. Bring your focus back to the present. There is a saying: yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift of God, which is why we call it the present. Stop worrying about the next 1,000 tasks you need to accomplish by the end of this year, do what you need to do at this exact moment, and take it from there!
#3. Acknowledge the fact that we are all humans. We can’t put 100% of effort into every single little thing we do, and that’s ok! It’s not possible to do everything perfectly always, and holding yourself up to that kind of standards can become unrealistic and stressful. Choose what is truly important to you, and strive for perfection in those things.

Last but not least, YOU CAN DO IT! We believe in you! 🥰🤩🥳
