“Be a see through-er, not a look at-er.” 🤝
Rachel Joy Scott reminded us that first impressions can be deceiving. Sometimes the people who seem the harshest are carrying the deepest hurt.
That doesn’t justify unkind behavior — but it reminds us that everyone is going through something. ❤️🩹
Hearing students reflect on this message was powerful.

"Don't let your character change color with your environment, find out who you are and let it stay its true color." - Rachel Joy Scott
Not all pain is visible. Sometimes it shows up as behavior. That doesn’t make it okay, but getting to the root of the issue is how we create safer schools.
Listening can change everything. 💬

There’s no excuse for bullying—but understanding what’s beneath it helps us prevent it. Supporting mental health is how we stop harm before it starts. ❤️
As we close out Teacher Appreciation Week, we’re grateful to the educators who inspire, uplift, and create lasting change. ❤️
These teachers brought Rachel’s Challenge to their schools because they believe in building kinder, safer communities for their students. Their impact reaches far beyond the classroom—and we’re proud to support them every step of the way.
You’ve heard the story.
But not like this.
In this episode of ’s podcast, Unheard: True Crime in Their Own Words, Rachel’s father—Darrell Scott—shares what came after Columbine, and how loss turned into a movement that’s reached millions.
This isn’t just about what happened.
It’s about what we do next.

Kindness is a leadership skill. So is forgiveness, and compassion, and respect.
Each act, no matter how small, can start a chain reaction. We can all be leaders. ✨

27 years later…the chain reaction continues. 🔗
Months after their Rachel’s Challenge presentation, the Almont School district in Michigan came together—all grades, from preschool through 12th—and formed a chain on their field to honor the 27th anniversary of the Columbine tragedy.
Thank you to the Almont district for sharing this powerful display of connection ❤️

April 20, 1999: A day that forever changed Columbine...and the world.
Their lives and impact are remembered, and the effects of that day are still felt in lasting ways.
We honor every victim by continuing to build a culture rooted in compassion and connection. Because even the smallest act of kindness can create a ripple further than we may ever know.

A message from Bethanee, Rachel’s sister:
“My family is thinking of the Columbine community today. Not only those who were taken that day, but the ones who’ve left us since. The ones who survived but were forever altered, emotionally and physically. This day changed our history, and the fight to recover has been very real over the years... Even when we felt alone, we never were—and we will forever be grateful for that fact.”
“Rachel is my biggest inspiration.”
And you can see what happens next: students choosing kindness, connection...choosing to be different. That’s the chain reaction. 🔗❤️
