Have you ever had a family member or old friend speak into your life—a word about your future that seemed too bold to believe? Maybe you thought, “How could they possibly know?” But sometimes, people see something in us before we see it in ourselves.

That’s exactly how it was for Renisha Ward, Founder of OnWard Academy of Scholastic & Integrated Sciences (O.A.S.I.S.). Years ago, those close to her spoke dreams and purpose into her life. They saw her passion for education, her heart for students who needed more than the system offered, and her willingness to step up and be the change.

With 30 years of experience—from years in the classroom to directing and designing educational enrichment programs for everyone from middle schoolers to higher ed—Renisha knows what it takes to help students truly thrive. A special thank you to that Aunt (you know who you are) for seeing the potential in me—and for encouraging me to be a disrupter for good.

Today, she is living out that calling. With years of experience guiding families, empowering students, and supporting parents, Renisha is opening the doors to an O.A.S.I.S. (OnWard Academy of Scholastic & Intergrated Sciences)—a place where every child can breathe easy, explore boldly, and find their own way to soar.

Sometimes the path forward in education doesn’t look like what we’ve always done. Tradition is only useful if it still serves our students. If the old ways aren’t meeting their needs, why keep trying to force a square peg into a round hole?
