Kids Cook Arkansas

After 20 years - and after teaching many, many, many students in Arkansas - Kids Cook! is no longer offering kids cooking classes. Kids Cookin' for a Cause!, our community service program, will be available by request through 2025.

None of it would have been possible without the 142 Cooking Assistants and countless parents, school administrators, program administrators, Registered Dieticians and teachers who supported the work. You all know who you are. Thank you.

250 Trail Mix Snack Bags!! 250 Pasta Casserole Servings!!
On June 28, 2024, approximately 100 elementary students plus their teachers and 5 community volunteers assembled approximately 250 snack bags of Trail Mix and prepared 250 servings of Pasta Casserole for Potluck Food Rescue. The project consisted of an all-day event at Baptist Preparatory Lower School.

Since Nov 2008, over 1,400 kids, ranging from Pre-K to 12th grade from 18 schools, churches and community organizations have participated in Kids Cookin’ for a Cause! They have produced an estimated 13,000 pounds of food, enough for over 24,000 meals and snacks for hungry Arkansans.

Thank you to our friends at eggshells kitchen co. for hosting Kids Cookin' for a Cause! The kids baked dozens and dozens of cookies and scones for our sidewalk bake sale. Thanks to generous donors we were able to raise over $200 for Potluck Food Rescue.

Kids Cookin' for a Cause!, benefiting Potluck Food Rescue is scheduled for March 30, 2024, 1-3 pm at Eggshells. Baking class for kids! The theme is Cookies for a Cause! The kids will bake sweets. Once items begin coming out of the oven, and concurrent with the class, kids and Kids Cook! manage a sidewalk bake sale with proceeds going to Potluck Food Rescue

Tentative Menu: Chocolate Chip Cookies, Oatmeal Raisin/Cranberry Cookies, Cheese Herb Scones, Lemonade Participating kids take home the recipes.
