Congratulations Alyssa!

We're excited to share that Alyssa Frisby, MS, RDN, LD, CC, has been named Assistant Director of Culinary Medicine at UAMS, while continuing to serve as Assistant Professor!

Alyssa joined Culinary Medicine in January 2022, and her role has grown alongside the program through teaching, community outreach, program development, partnerships, and statewide initiatives.

Please join us in congratulating Alyssa on this new role and the continued growth of Culinary Medicine at UAMS!

Have you heard? Dr. Clare Brown recently obtained a big career accomplishment.
Brown, associate professor in our Department of Health Policy and Management, reached the milestone of having 100 published research papers. Her colleagues celebrated the occasion by providing cupcakes and placing a big sign on Brown's office door.

The 2026 Promotion & Tenure (P&T) Prep begins on September 15! There are two types of sessions available to assist you this year: P+T Prep and P+T Lab. Both sessions are designed to guide you through the P+T process, provide the opportunity to ask questions, and block time in your schedule to intentionally work on your packet.

P+T Prep is an information session that provides guidance from a recently promoted UAMS faculty member who created a notably fantastic packet. Time is allowed for questions. Sessions are not recorded to create a more open environment for discussion and questions. Each session will focus on different components of P+T packets. If you’re unable to attend a session, the presentation slides will be made available after the presentation.

P+T Lab is a study hall type of session that provides you with blocked time in your schedule to make progress on your packet components. Knowledgeable staff available for P+T guidance.

The Outreach Committee is holding a period product drive this month with six drop off locations (three at UAMS and three at ACH). All donations will go to the North Little Rock School District.
