Cheers to the weekend! 🍹🐝

When one bee is down, the rest of the hive doesn’t stop. Everyone steps up, fills the roles that are needed, and keeps the colony moving.

Earlier this month, one of our beekeepers had an emergency that took her away from the hives for a bit. Without missing a beat, our team jumped in, covered inspections, and made sure her bees were cared for until she could get back on her feet.

And baby, she’s BACK! 💛

We talk a lot about what bees can teach us, but community might be one of our favorite lessons. Take care of your people. Step up when you can. Trust that they’ll do the same for you.

Last week at Bee S’cool, we were learning to find, catch + mark queens...with varying levels of grace 😂

This week, we’re switching from queens to honey! Come get hands-on harvesting experience alongside a sticky + fun crew, whether you’re already a beekeeper, a future beekeeper, or just looking for a new hobby.

A little beehind the scenes from Bee S’cool! 🐝👑

We made this video to share with our class participants, but this was too cool to keep in the classroom.

We’ve been digging into brood development, reading what’s happening inside the hive, and putting those skills to work by growing fresh queens for fall. Over the next couple of weeks, we’ll keep following the process while building skills around queen grafting, queen marking, feeding, and getting colonies ready for winter.

That’s really what Bee S’cool is about: not just learning what beekeepers do, but getting your hands in the hive and practicing it yourself.

Our first-ever collab with El Sur, but they’re some of our oldest friends in town! Back when El Sur was a mere food truck, we were their last to-go order almost every Saturday at White Water Tavern...yes, WWT used to have a Farmers Market!

From El Todo to baleadas, everything on their menu is delicious, including our Last Sips of Summer Honey Buzz 🌺🍯

Hibiscus + Lime + Local Honey + Fizz. Does it get any more refreshing than that?! And it comes as a mocktail OR cocktail, depending on your current lifestyle, so all ages can grab a glass and support local. 🙌

Cheers to longtime friendships, local flavor, and sharing the hard work of our neighborhood pollinators in every glass. 🥂🐝

🌻🐝🦌 Good things grow in good company.

A little shoutout to the Lady Beekeepers, who gather on the first Monday of every month to share knowledge, resources, stories, and plenty of bee talk.

Their beautiful meeting at the 4-H Center in Ferndale came with quite the backdrop: blooming flowers, buzzing hives, and even a few deer wandering through. 🌸

Staying involved in the bee community reminds us that learning doesn’t stop when you get comfortable working a hive. We grow by sharing what we know, asking questions, swapping resources, and building relationships with people who care about the same things we do.

Whatever your passion, find your people and keep growing together. 🌱💛

A “typical” Saturday around here looks a little something like this…

📖 Get ready + get inspired for the day (Humankind is incredible, by the way!)
🍯 Load up and visit Geneva at the West Little Rock Farmers Market
🔬 Head to Oak Forest for a hands-on Mite Testing Workshop
🐝 Inspect hives in Hillcrest + at Forest Heights Elementary
👑 Pick up one spicy queen from a family hive on Breckenridge and move her to a quieter home in Foxcroft
🎨 Load up again for Hive Painting at Reggae Fest
💛 Spend the evening with Redd + her family and run into friends like Coach A and Marthella
🚙 Load up those freshly painted hives and drop one at Beautywood Books for a new hive being installed TODAY!

And that’s just one Saturday. 😆

This Labor Day, we’re celebrating the Beekeepers, Apprentices, market crew, volunteers, partners, friends, and community members who put in the work to keep this little ecosystem growing.

Thank you, Central Arkansas, for showing up, shopping local, learning with us, and making room for the bees. 🐝🌼

Now go enjoy a well-earned, restful Labor Day. 💛

Join us Saturday from 10 AM–Noon as we dig into Pestanagement and get hands-on experience doing Mite Tests. Whether you’re brand new to bees or ready to sharpen your skills, come learn with us!

What a way to kick off fall! 🍂🐝

This past Saturday was filled with incredible wisdom, generous conversations, and a whole lot of shared love for bees, pollinators, and our Central Arkansas community.

A HUGE thank you to Community Bakery for keeping us fueled with delicious treats and to the CALS Library System for giving us a welcoming space to gather, learn, and connect. 💛

And we’re just getting started! Bee S’cool begins THIS WEEK, where we’ll take all that good conversation into the garden for hands-on beekeeping experience at local community gardens.
