Celebrating 5 Years of the Learner Engagement and Attendance Program (LEAP)!

On Wednesday, August 19, LEAP partners gathered in Hartford for a special Town Hall and press event celebrating five years of collective work to improve student attendance and strengthen support for students and families.

Governor Ned Lamont, Lieutenant Governor Susan Bysiewicz, Commissioner Charlene Russell-Tucker, and Attendance Works President & CEO Hedy Chang were in attendance to recognize this important milestone. Governor Lamont also issued an official proclamation recognizing the impact of LEAP and the dedication of everyone who has contributed to its success.

Thank you to our district leaders, coordinators, educators, and partners for your continued commitment to helping students attend school, stay engaged, and succeed.

In 2021-2022, chronic absenteeism in CT reached 23.7%, nearly double what it was pre-COVID. This past school year, it dropped to 16.4%.

Head Start Enrollment: Limited Spots Available!

EdAdvance Head Start: Prenatal to Five has limited openings available at our Torrington, Winsted, and New Milford locations, with a variety of schedule options to meet the needs of families.

Our free early childhood education programs are available to eligible families with young children. Eligibility may include families receiving SNAP, TANF, or SSI, as well as foster families.

Do you know a family with a child who will be 3 years old by September 1? Help us spread the word by sharing this post or encouraging them to contact us to learn more about enrollment.

Heading into the holiday weekend full of gratitude after another amazing Summer Fun Food Truck Fest at our Litchfield campus.

Thank you to our incredible vendors Meraki ,The Singing Sliders , and SoulFully Vegan for helping make the afternoon so special. Between the great food, yard games, laughter, and time spent together, it was the perfect way to kick off the season.
