As we kick off April and Distracted Driving Awareness Month, let me take this moment to remind you that cyclists are human, just like you and I.

Sure, they may have different hobbies than you. Those hobbies may include them riding their bicycles on the road. But they are not out there trying to ruin your day or make you late for your destination. They are out there, simply enjoying life alongside the rest of us.

They are someone’s partner, friend, parent, and child. They have people waiting for them to get home safely.

And they have every legal right to be out on the road alongside of you. A moment of distraction does not just interrupt a ride. It can really change a life.
