🧸✨ Learning Through Play at SMCA! ✨🧸

Our Early Learning Class is all about hands-on learning, exploration, and learning through play! 💚

At this age, little ones learn best when they can touch, explore, create, move, and have fun! Our classroom gives students opportunities to learn while they play, allowing them to build important skills while developing their creativity, confidence, communication, and independence.

But we’re not just teaching our little ones—we’re also creating leaders! 🌟 Students are encouraged to take responsibility, help their classmates, make choices, and practice becoming confident leaders who can help lead the classroom.

From hands-on activities to interactive play, every moment is an opportunity to learn something new! 📚✨ We love watching our youngest learners discover the world around them while building the skills they need to grow academically, socially, and as future leaders.

At SMCA, learning starts with curiosity, grows through play, and begins building leaders from day one! 💚🧸

🎩🥂 THE GATSBY ESCAPE ROOM WAS A SUCCESS! 🥂🎩

Everyone was able to crack the code and escape! 🔐🎉 But what would an escape room be without a little partying along the way? 😉

Mrs. Washington’s Literature class is diving into The Great Gatsby, and what better way to bring the story to life than by stepping into a little mystery, excitement, and 1920s-inspired fun of their own? 📚✨

Of course, our middle schoolers weren’t about to let the high schoolers have ALL the fun! They stepped in as our official bouncers, making sure the party didn’t get too crazy, while our wonderful waiters made sure our guests were well taken care of and didn’t have to lift a finger! 🕴🏽🍽️

From solving clues and cracking codes to stepping into the world of Gatsby, our students had the opportunity to experience literature in a whole new way. It’s always more fun when learning goes beyond the pages of a book! 📖🔎

A great time was had by ALL—and thankfully, everyone made it out! 😂🎉

Who knows what adventure our students will find themselves in next? 👀

🏃🏽‍♀️💨 WARRIORS ON THE MOVE! 💨🏃🏽‍♂️

Our second Cross Country meet was another SUCCESS! 🎉 We are so proud of our SMCA runners and the hard work they continue to put in each week.

A special shoutout to our Varsity Girls, who took 2nd place in yesterday’s race! 🥈👏🏽 Way to go, Warriors!

But the biggest victory of the day? EVERYONE who competed improved their time from our first meet! 🙌🏽 That kind of progress doesn't happen by accident—it takes dedication, determination, and a willingness to keep pushing even when the race gets tough.

Our runners continue to show us that Cross Country is about more than just crossing the finish line. It's about setting goals, challenging yourself, supporting your teammates, and celebrating every bit of progress along the way. 💪🏽❤️

We are EXTREMELY proud of each and every one of our runners! Keep putting in the work, Warriors—the season is just getting started! 🏃🏽‍♀️🏃🏽‍♂️🔥

🏃🏽‍♀️🏃🏽‍♂️ Cross Country Season is OFFICIALLY underway! 🏃🏽‍♂️🏃🏽‍♀️

Our SMCA Cross Country team had their first meet of the season, and we could not be more proud of how they showed up! From the starting line to the finish, our athletes gave it their all, encouraged one another, and represented SMCA with determination, teamwork, and plenty of Warrior spirit! 💪🏽💚💙

This season is especially exciting because this is SMCA’s first year competing with the NICC! We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to participate in the conference, compete alongside other schools, and give our students the chance to grow through athletics.

We are excited to watch this team grow throughout the season and create memories along the way!

⚡🧲 STEM in Action! 🧲⚡

Our LC1 students got hands-on in STEM class as they explored the fascinating world of electromagnetics! From learning how electricity and magnetism work together to seeing these concepts come to life, our students had the opportunity to explore science beyond the textbook.

Who knew electricity could be this much fun?! 🔋⚡🧲

We love giving our students opportunities to learn, experiment, ask questions, and discover how the world around them works. STEM learning is all about getting curious and putting that curiosity into action! 👩🏽‍🔬👨🏽‍🔬🔬

🔬🍬 Science You Can See… and Eat! 🍬🔬

Our middle schoolers are diving into the fascinating world of amoebas! What better way to bring science to life than with a little creativity (and candy, of course 😉)?

After observing amoebas under the microscope, each student had the opportunity to recreate what they saw using candy they brought from home. From identifying the unique shapes to capturing the details, our students turned their observations into sweet scientific masterpieces!

And the best part? Once their creations were complete, they got to enjoy their candy, too! Because who says learning science can’t be a little sweet? 🍭🧪

We love seeing our students explore, create, and make meaningful connections between what they learn in the classroom and the world around them! 💚💙

🧠👓 Seeing Things Differently in AP Psychology!

Our AP Psychology students had a hands-on learning experience using glasses designed to distort their vision! What may have looked like a fun challenge was also an opportunity to explore how our brains interpret and respond to the world around us.

Activities like this help students better understand the connection between the brain, perception, and behavior. Sometimes, the best way to learn about psychology is to experience it firsthand!

Who knew seeing things differently could be such a great learning experience? 😄

🚲 BIKES OUT! WATCH OUT! 🛴

Every year while the weather is still warm, SMCA takes the fun outside the classroom for one of our students’ favorite days of the year — BIKE DAY! 🎉☀️

From our youngest students to our oldest, everyone gets a chance to hop on, roll around, laugh with friends, and enjoy some good old-fashioned fun! Whether it’s a bike, rollerblades, scooter, or anything else with wheels — if it rolls, it’s pretty much welcomed! 😆🛼

There’s something so special about watching our students enjoy time together outside of their normal classroom routines. Bike Day is filled with smiles, laughter, a little friendly competition, and plenty of memories being made. ❤️

It’s a reminder that learning doesn’t always have to happen behind a desk. Sometimes the best school memories happen outside, surrounded by friends, sunshine, and a whole lot of wheels! 🚲💨

We love seeing our SMCA students have fun, be active, encourage one another, and simply enjoy being kids!

📚🦋 Learning Beyond Our Four Walls! 🦋📚

Our Early Education and 1st Grade students had their first outing of the school year, and off to the library they went! 📖✨

While our local library wasn’t quite ready to welcome school groups just yet, that didn’t stop us from making the most of our adventure! We enjoyed a snack outside on the patio, played together, made new friends, and even picked out a few books to take home. 📚🥰

And the best part? We spotted butterflies—something our students have been learning about in class! 🦋 It was such a fun way to connect what we’ve been learning in the classroom with the world around us.

At SMCA, we believe learning doesn’t only happen inside our four walls. Learning can happen anywhere! 🌎❤️

We can’t wait to visit the library again soon and see what adventures await us! 📚🦋
