Serve as a Family!

Zodi grew up on board the Africa Mercy, attending Mercy Ships Academy alongside her brothers and sister while her parents served as volunteers. Because of our accredited K-12 international Christian school, their family was able to answer the call to serve together.

Today, Zodi is completing her master's degree at Oxford University while conducting research during her time serving in our Housekeeping department. And yes, she still joins her team twice a week to help clean the school!

Her story is a beautiful reminder that serving with Mercy Ships is not just an opportunity for individuals, but for entire families.

A new school year is just around the corner! As our ship schools prepare for 2026-2027, students at Global Mercy Academy will start classes during our voyage to Ghana, while Africa Mercy Academy will be learning and growing in Madagascar. Here's to a year of education, adventure, and impact!

Celebrating Ruth Cooper 🎉

Today, we want to recognize and celebrate Ruth Cooper as she concludes her time serving with Mercy Ships aboard the Africa Mercy.

Originally from the United Kingdom, Ruth has faithfully invested in the lives of students and families across both the Africa Mercy and the Global Mercy, bringing dedication, wisdom, and compassion to the Academy community. In recent years, she has served as Mercy Ships Academy Principal, providing outstanding leadership and helping shape a supportive and enriching learning environment for students from around the world.

As Ruth now prepares to return home to be with her family, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude for her years of service, commitment, and positive impact on countless lives.

Ruth has truly embodied the spirit of Colossians 3:23: "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men." Through her faithful service, leadership, and care for others, she has made a lasting impact on the Mercy Ships community.

Thank you, Ruth, for all you have given to Mercy Ships. Your leadership, encouragement, and dedication will be greatly missed, but your legacy will continue to bless students, families, and crew for years to come.
