It's our favorite week of the year! Ok, maybe we have more than one favorite week, but Nebraska Wildflower Week is right up there! We have SO many fun things happening this week as we head west to hang out in Chadron, Scottsbluff and Gering. Think sunset wildflower hikes, plant sales, plant talks, social gatherings, trivia, and more -- all free, all open to the public. We want to get to know you! Check out all our western Nebraska Wildflower Week events, plus other events happening statewide with our partners. https://plantnebraska.org/resources-events/events/wildflowers.html Yay for flowers!

We only have a handful of spring plant sales left, so if you have holes to fill in your garden beds, now's the time to snap up the last plants. We'll be at our greenhouses (2150 N. 38th St., Lincoln, on the north side of UNL's East Campus) today (Saturday, May 30) from 9 a.m. to noon. Come shop for perennials for sun and shade, herbs, grasses, sedges, trees and shrubs. We take credit/debit cards and checks; no cash, please. And PlantNebraska members get 15% off.

Thank you to everyone who supported our internship program through a Give to Lincoln Day donation! We had our most successful Give to Lincoln Day ever and raised more money for our internship program than in any previous year. These gifts allow us to continue our work of training and educating students who will soon enter the workforce and continue the important work of planting Nebraska every day.

Just a few more hours to donate to our Give to Lincoln Day campaign to support our student internship program. For real, we could not plant Nebraska without their help - they plant, they w**d, they water, they transplant, they work our sales! You name it, our interns are getting their hands dirty, literally. Give to Lincoln Day ends tonight (Thursday, May 28) at midnight, and we are trying to raise $20,000. Can you help us get there? Garret, our current intern, is cheering you on!

Wow! We are more than halfway to our $20,000 Give to Lincoln Day campaign goal - thank you to everyone who has donated! We are raising funds to support our student internship program, and believe us when we say we could not plant Nebraska without them! From helping Bob plant, transplant and water in the greenhouses, to pitching in at our sales and plantings to connecting with community members to share their plant knowledge, our interns make a difference here in Lincoln and across Nebraska everyday day!

Please consider donating to our Give to Lincoln Day campaign today (Thursday is the last day!) to support our awesome interns. Your gift is an important investment in the future health of plants, trees and the environment as a whole in Nebraska! 🌳🌻πŸͺΊπŸπŸ¦‹ Thank you! https://givetolincoln.com/nonprofits/plantnebraska

Give to Lincoln Day is here, and we are raising funds to support our student internship program! $20,000 is our goal to support one full-time UNL intern for a year, including full-time summer work. Donate here --> https://givetolincoln.com/nonprofits/plantnebraska

A donation to our Give to Lincoln Day campaign is an investment in hope for the future. Our student interns work hard, learn A LOT and then take their knowledge and skills out into the world to positively impact Nebraska communities and improve the environment. Your contribution to this Give To Lincoln Day campaign is truly an investment in a better future.

Thank you!!

Our interns really go places after they graduate from UNL! Sarah Spilinek was an intern with our Greener Towns grant program and a landscape architecture major and now works as a landscape architectural designer for JEO Consulting -- so cool!

You can help students like Sarah succeed by making a donation to our Give to Lincoln Day Campaign this year. We are aiming to raise $20,000 to support our student intern program, which helps UNL students like Sarah gain real-world experience that they take to their Nebraska communities and workplaces to make a real, lasting difference.

Give to Lincoln Day is this Thursday, May 28, but you can make a donation any time to help us hit our goal this week. Thank you for supporting the next generation of young leaders in Nebraska!
