Since 2004, the Getting Ready research program has promoted children's healthy development by bringing evidence-based parent engagement strategies to early childhood programs across Nebraska.
Key impacts:
🩵 6,000+ children and parents — and 500 educators — in Nebraska and the Midwest have benefited from the program.
🩵 Participating preschoolers scored better than 75% of their peers in handling emotions, managing behavior and developing relationships.
🩵 They also tested better than 80% of their peers in language and early reading abilities.
Exciting news! 🎉 Getting Ready has earned national recognition as a featured program in Family Engagement Solutions, an online tool developed by the National Parent Teacher Association and Center for Research and Reform in Education at Johns Hopkins University School of Education.
The tool helps district and school leaders, educators and advocates find programs that are proven to strengthen family engagement, build family–school partnerships and improve student outcomes.
