My classes have picked up a little bit. it seems as though i am teaching at least one night per week. This term I am teaching 4 different classes. There is of course Soups From the Heart, Not a Can. which has 5 different individual sessions, which are Stocks, Broth based, Cream based, Stews and Chili, and Alternate Thickening Method soups. Please check the website for dates each of the different classes are being offered.
I am also doing an Italian from scratch called, That's Amore!! this one is 3 individual sessions, the first 1 has already happened and was a whole lot of fun! Each one has 3 courses, and session 1 was a tomato and mozz. salad, fresh made pasta, and canolis. it was a big mess at the end, but a ton of fun. Number 2 is going to be Italian dressing from scratch, pizza from scratch(both Chicago and New York style), and gelato. Number 3 is a ways off, so i will keep you in suspense, muhahahahaha!
Being Diabetic for almost 20 years now, i figured i could offer a Reduced sugar baking course. It's called, Baking for the Diabetic with Discerning Taste. In this class I'll help to get you familiar with substituting with Splenda, without sacrificeing taste.
My Last class is Holiday themed, and has 3 Sessions. The first is called, Sweets for your Sweetie. In it you can learn to make sweet treats for your valentine. And is based off of a Christmas cookie exchange. everyone gets together, we all make different treats, and everyone goes home with Sweets for their Sweetie! Session 2 is, Luck O' the Irish. We'll be making an authentic Irish spread, like From scratch Potato Bread, Shepard's Pie. There is a desert planned, but you have to check out the website to see it. The last session of this class is Easter Breakfast. We'll be making From scratch Quiche, Biscuits and gravy, and should be a wonderful reference to make this year's Easter breakfast the best that you'll ever make!!

GREAT GOOGLIE-MOOGLIE!!!!!!!! It has been far too long since i have given you guys an update about what is going on at Art & Soul. Well here is some news that is news. Last week Art & Soul hosted a 3rd Thursday event that raised money for Donate Life, the organization for organ donation that helped get the youngest of the Slattery girls a new heart and liver!! We had live music, and i served Chili Dogs and cornbread. Saying that it went over well may be a rather large understatement. With individual donations, and 10% of sales being donated, we were able to raise just over $1700!!! That is thanks to you guys, for helping to support us in this cause.

Hey guys!!!! I'm kinda slacking off, what with Halloween already here. So without further ado, On Wednesday I made what turned out to be a very well received soup. It was Spiced Carrot. It starts with a standard Mirepiox sauteed with about 5 large russet potatoes and about 5 cups of diced carrots, along with a select few herbs and secret mix of spices. Last but not least you throw it in the Vitamix, and P**F!!!! You have a creamy and delicious Spiced Carrot soup.

today i made 2 soups, a Chicken Tortilla, spicy but not too spicy, and an Asparagus Pottage, with Garlic oil. I also made some of my world famous cornbread with honey butter. I have also found out that until the demand for a change in time, my soup classes will be on saturday afternoons at 2. You should all Sign up and Join the fun!!!!!

Tonight I went in and made 2 soups. The first was a standard Chicken Noodle, though I cooked the noodles separately so as to not let them get mushy and destroy the soup overnight. The other was a Loaded, Cheesy Baked Potato Soup. Both are extra tasty and will be for lunch at the Art & Soul Mini Cafe tomorrow.
