Americans take less vacation than workers in a lot of other wealthy countries, and that is not some random cultural quirk.

It's baked into the system.

At the federal level, the U.S. does not guarantee paid vacation by law.

OECD data show the United States is the only OECD country with 0 statutory paid annual leave at the national level, while countries like France guarantee 25 paid vacation days, Germany guarantees 20, and Australia guarantees 20, before you even get into public holidays.

So when Americans act weirdly guilty about taking time off, or feel like rest has to be “earned,” that is not happening in a vacuum. A lot of people know their time off depends on company policy, manager mood, workload, and whether they think stepping away will make them look replaceable.

I have seen both sides of this.

People spend years building a career, growing a business, making more money, and chasing the version of success they thought would finally make life feel lighter. Then one day they wake up and realize they built the income part without building any actual room to breathe.

That's where things get sideways.

Because if your version of winning requires you to stay constantly available, constantly tired, and constantly behind at home, then the money might be growing while the rest of your life is getting stripped for parts.

That ain't wealth. That's a TRADEOFF a lot of people made without realizing how expensive it would feel later.

And the irony is hard to miss. The U.S. is one of the richest countries in the world, but a lot of people still feel like they cannot safely unplug for a week without everything piling up or falling apart. Sad.

The paycheck might be there, but the margin is not.

I can show you how to live your best life if you’re ready to listen.

There comes a moment in life when you realize…
You’re not waiting anymore.

Not waiting for the “right time.”
Not waiting for retirement.
Not waiting for someday.

You book the flight.
You plan the experience.
You say YES to the memory.

This is the season of living boldly, loving deeply, and traveling intentionally.

Your best life isn’t ahead of you. It’s happening now. ✈️✨
