The West Noble School Corporation is located in western Noble County and consists of one primary, one elementary, one middle school, and one high school with a total enrollment of approximately 2559 students. West Noble Primary is located in Ligonier, IN and houses approximately 358 students in grades K-1. WNE houses approximately 592 students in grades 2-4. West Noble Middle School is located on

the West Noble Campus 2½ miles south of Ligonier. WNMS houses approximately 866 students in grades 5-8. West Noble High School is located on the West Noble Campus 2½ miles south of Ligonier. WNHS houses approximately 707 students in grades 9-12. Not sure who else is approaching a milestone at this point, but we celebrated another one within the West Noble volleyball program Tuesday night.
Junior Ella Limerick has reached 1,000 assists for her career and was celebrated at home in the first set against Tippecanoe Valley, part of a 3-0 Charger win in a rematch from last year's sectionals. Less than a week ago, classmate Elyse Mead reached 1,000 kills for her career, the two certainly a big part of each other's statistical success.

West Noble Primary had a special set of visitors this morning as bicyclists that are part of the Bay to Brooklyn bike ride made a stop in Ligonier. The dozen or so cyclists, which began their journey in Santa Clara, California, on August 1st, are riding across the United States to end up in Brooklyn, New York. Their goal is to ride in honor of the firefighters that lost their lives on 9/11/2001, and for all the military members who paid the ultimate sacrifice.
The group’s route had them arrive in Ligonier last night after riding from Merrillville, and took US6 out of town this morning to Bowling Green, Ohio, where they finished this afternoon. If the group stays on course, they will arrive in Brooklyn on Sept. 10, in time for the 25th anniversary remembrance of 9/11 in New York City.

We’ve got a little of this and that for the Charger Check-in this week.
While a lot of the attention was paid to the varsity volleyball match on Thursday, the 7th and 8th grade volleyball teams were also in action in the high school auxiliary gym, and the high school JV team opened the excitement in the main gym. Lots of volleyball going in this past week, including the middle school home openers last Monday.
The West Noble JV football team picked up a win at home Saturday to complete the season sweep against the Wawasee Warriors.
Cross country continued to ascend with a pair of team finishes inside the top three at the Prairie Heights Invite.
In the inside classroom, students in third and fourth grade classes at the elementary were doing the cup stack challenge in the makerspace. In the outdoor classroom, first graders continued to explore and learn while enjoying a fantastic week of weather in our Charger Woods.

The West Noble tradition continued to start the weekend as the National Honor Society held its annual Tapping Ceremony Friday afternoon. The entire student body was on hand in the cafeteria as NHS' senior members tapped the new juniors that will become the next wave of students to carry the honor at West Noble. Led by sponsor Charles Grady, the NHS tabbed 19 new members in the latest installment of the club.

Thursday, Sept. 10, West Noble will take on Central Noble in both girls and boys soccer matches at the new Ruoff Mortgage Stadium in Fort Wayne! The girls match is set for 6 p.m. with the boys to follow at approximately 8 p.m. Tickets are available at the following link:

Feels good to get the first win!
Two touchdowns from Xy'mire Barnes-Bridges and touchdown catches from Brayden Limerick and Caleb Saggars helped push West Noble football to a 26-16 win at Wawasee. Barnes-Bridges had over 200 yards of all-purpose yardage in the contest, but the defense was rigid in the second half, forcing a pair of turnovers and stuffed a key-point try as Wawasee was looking to close within a score in the fourth quarter.
The Chargers move to 1-1 on the campaign and welcome in Garrett next Friday to open Northeast Corner Conference play.
