The Blue Lounge Social Club is for Young Freemasons, their friends and partners. The Future of Freemasonry needs to be an international conversation.

Our mission is to recruit, retain, educate and support young freemasons for a brighter future for freemasonry. We are the Blue Lounge Social Club of the State of Illinois, United States of America

Our Aims:

• RECRUIT candidates through a channel of family and friends of existing freemasons and through engagement with the public
• To RETAIN members by providing them an engaging and educational fo

rums that will maintain their interest in freemasonry.
• Provide a social nights for young freemasons where they have the opportunity to:
o Get to know each other outside the lodge
o Get to know each other’s partners/friends/family
o Enjoy an informal social environment
o Have a social forum to ask masonic questions
• Promote/expose non-masons to freemasons, masonic buildings and lodges.
• Satisfy our intellectual thirst through quarterly lectures on both masonic and non-masonic topics of interest. Description of the Blue Lounge Social Club

Originating from Victoria Australia, the Blue Lounge Social Club was created to achieve the mission of the recruitment, retention, education and support of young Freemasons. Our club hosts regular social events, where young freemasons can gather together outside the lodge in a non-formal environment. Members have told us that our meetings allow the brethren to also meet and engage with others from different lodges. During these evenings, freemasons are welcome to come with their wives, partners or friends. This assists in the promotion of freemasonry to non-masons and, by extension, the recruitment of new candidates. In the last three years the club has recruited many new members and contributed to the enrichment and retention of many more. We want to commence a global conversation about ways we can strengthen our order through recruitment and retention. The Blue Lounge Social Club wants to collaborate with and share ideas with young brethren in jurisdictions around the world. The future of our order, inclusive of strategies to recruit and retain members is important. Please share your ideas with us. Or alternatively if you have any questions about how to set up a similar body in your jurisdiction, we are happy to help!

With lodges in Illinois heading back to virtual or hybrid formats, BLSC is looking to 2022 as a time for us to offer some events and content for young & young at heart masons. So stay tuned as BLSC totally embraces New Year New Me in 2022.

This piece by RW Bro. RJ Johnson reminds us of the striking emblems and visuals in our allegory. An allegory meant to prepare us for that final trial that takes from this life to the next. Although, sad for those we leave behind, Freemasonry hopes to give us the tools with which to live a life free of regret and full of hope at what comes after that final test. A test which just reward is the "happy reflection consequent of a well spent life and to die in the hopes of a glorious immortality." For those of us that believe in a heaven we may get the chance, as the Bond Eternal of Delta Sigma Phi relates, to "meet our pilot face to face when we have crossed the bar."
