Wildcats Explore Post-Graduation Options

This fall, LHS students are meeting with college representatives and military recruiters to learn more about opportunities after high school. Juniors and seniors are encouraged to attend the rep panels and military visits that interest them throughout October.

Congratulations! A great achievement!!

Congratulations to VHHS Librarian Monica Caldicott on being named the 2026 Illinois School Librarian of the Year by the Association of Illinois School Library Educators! Monica will be recognized at an awards banquet in November, where she will also be a special guest speaker.

Congratulations to the Transition Pathways microbusiness, That’s a Wrap, on a successful soft opening today. This experience gives young adults the opportunity to put their skills into action, welcoming customers, preparing food, working as a team, and gaining real-world employment experience.

LHS SOS Seeks to Preserve 100+ Years of LHS Stories

LHS SOS is an organization whose sole focus is to preserve the over 100 years of history at Libertyville High School. Thanks to a generous donation and school funds, we have already digitized our entire collection of Nautilus (yearbook) and Drops of Ink (student newspaper). When you donate to LHS SOS, you’ll be funding the displays and digital maintenance of an archive that will be fully searchable and available to the public on the web. We're also seeking to better archive, preserve, and display our physical artifacts, starting with our newspapers and yearbooks, but also other pieces of LHS history, like memorabilia, uniforms, playbills, and more! Other future projects include digitizing fine arts performances, assemblies, athletic contests, and awards ceremonies.

VHHS Seniors Named 2027 National Merit Semifinalists

Congratulations to the VHHS seniors named 2027 National Merit Semifinalists:

Kenneth de Azcarate
Kautik Mandve
Mohammad Yusuf

Over 1.2 million juniors in about 20,000 high schools entered the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the PSAT - NMSQT in October of 2025. The nationwide pool of semifinalists, representing less than one percent of US high school seniors, includes the highest-scoring entrants in each state. Semifinalists will apply to become Finalists and have the opportunity to earn one of 6,700 National Merit Scholarships worth nearly $24,000,000 that will be offered next Spring.

Students from the LHS Student Diversity Council sponsored a trivia table outside of the cafeteria on Friday in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month. Students could answer trivia questions to win prizes like bracelets, stickers, and candy from Latin American countries.
