More information about the eclipse viewing.
Casey County Schools will participate in viewing and learning activities for the Solar Eclipse on Monday, April 8, 2024.
In collaboration with each school, we have purchased safety glasses for all students and employees. The glasses will be provided to each school and be distributed on Monday, April 8th. (the day we return from Spring Break)
All students will be required to have a parent/guardian permission form on file to participate in the viewing of the event. - students without permission will be able to view the eclipse virtually in classrooms.

At this time dismissal will be regular schedule. If that changes we will let everyone know.

Maximum: at 3:08 pm we are in the 0.958% partial eclipse viewing area
(There is a difference in the 95% coverage we will see vs the 100% coverege that those in Western KY will experience)

Safety
Observers should never look directly at the Sun. Proper eye protection, like eclipse glasses or a special solar filter, is the only safe option. Sunglasses don't work. For more information, you can view the following:
