Three groups. Three days of learning. One shared commitment to improving mathematics teaching and learning across Kentucky. 💜💙

This week our PNCA² Cohort 2 administrators from Lexington A, Lexington B, and Bowling Green came together for Day 3 of the PIMSER Numeracy Counts Administrator Academy!

Throughout our time together, administrators continued digging into the PNCA² Big Rocks that anchor our work:

🟧 Math Whole School Agreement (MWSA)
🟪 Fluency: Teach, Practice, Assess
🟦 Effective Mathematics Teaching Practices
🟩 Supporting Teachers through HQIR, Kentucky Academic Standards, and meaningful instructional leadership

Day 3 gave us an opportunity to take an even deeper dive into multiplication fact fluency—how we teach it, how we assess it, and how it develops across the Kentucky Academic Standards—while making connections to HQIR and continuing our work with The Math Pact.

But some of the most valuable moments happen between the slides: administrators talking, questioning, reflecting, sharing experiences, and learning from one another.

We love seeing this statewide initiative building leaders’ capacity to support high-quality mathematics instruction for students across the state.

Another great day of learning in action!

Today, PNCA² Leadership Coach Renee’ Yates visited with Principal Leslie Weihe and Academic Coach Karen Liebert at Mt. Washington Elementary in Bullitt County.

Their time together focused on making connections among the Kentucky Academic Standards, their HQIR, and Math Fact Fluency progressions—important work as they continue strengthening mathematics teaching and learning across their school.

Our PNCA² coaches are excited and ready to get back into schools, working alongside leaders and engaging deeply in the Numeracy Counts work!

We’re looking forward to another year of learning, collaboration, and growth across our PNCA² coaching schools.
