It wasn’t always pretty, but Kentucky absolutely took over in the second half at Kroger Field.
After South Alabama grabbed a 21-14 lead late in the second quarter, the Wildcats responded with 31 unanswered points and shut the Jaguars out after halftime to roll to a 45-21 victory. Kentucky improves to 3-1 on the season.

The Wildcats piled up 376 rushing yards and FIVE rushing touchdowns, led by THREE different 100-yard rushers.

Patterson provided one of the biggest plays of the afternoon, exploding for a 75-yard touchdown with Kentucky trailing 21-14. Moments later, Grant Godfrey intercepted South Alabama, allowing UK to kick a field goal and take a 24-21 halftime lead.
Then Kentucky slammed the door.
The Wildcats scored 21 unanswered points after halftime, while the defense held South Alabama scoreless and Antwan Smith finished things off with a late interception.
