Read with the Gamecocks started today, August 25th! Here is what families needed to know about the reading program:

Bingo Boards: Each Husky received a Gamecocks Bingo Board to take home, filled with different reading challenges.

The Goal: Students have 2 weeks to complete at least 5 reading challenges on their board.

The Reward: Students who completed the program earned vouchers for two tickets (one student ticket and one adult ticket) to a Gamecock men's and women's basketball game.

Distribution: Ticket vouchers were scheduled for distribution in November.

Math is better together! Mrs. Campbell’s second graders worked in groups to create class graphs, using collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills along the way. They practiced making sense of data while learning from and supporting one another. We are so proud of these little mathematicians! 💙📈

🐾 Husky Pride in Action at Carolina Springs Elementary!

We were honored to host South Carolina State Superintendent of Education Ellen Weaver at our school this morning. Members of her team, along with local media, joined us on campus for this special visit. We were also proud to welcome members of the Lexington County School District One Board of Trustees, District Superintendent Dr. Price, and leaders from Lexington County School District One.

During the visit, Carolina Springs Elementary was officially recognized as Momentum Makers for our outstanding growth and excellence on the SC READY assessments:

English Language Arts (ELA): Our students grew from 65.8% to 73.6% meeting or exceeding state standards.

Mathematics: Our school-wide scores rose from 60.1% to 72.2% meeting or exceeding expectations.

Third Grade Milestone: Our dedicated third-grade teachers were celebrated for an impressive gain of 23 proficiency points.

Thank you to our incredible students, teachers, staff, and district leadership for their dedication to learning and excellence. It was a incredible day to be a Husky!

We will be sharing more photos from this monumental event!

Today, Ms. Bagley’s kindergarten Huskies put their math skills and growth mindsets to work!

Working together in small groups, our students built tall block towers while practicing key math concepts. When towers wobbled or fell down, our resilient young learners encouraged one another, tried new strategies, and kept building.

We are so proud of their teamwork, problem-solving, and positive attitudes! 🐾
