We will begin taking applications for our Local Cost Share Program September 28 - October 9, 2026. Conservation practices covered by this cost share will consist of Livestock tanks & Pipeline, Heavy use feeding areas, Fencing, Hay & Pasture renovation. 2027 State Cost Share Applications Now Open

The Wayne County Conservation District is now accepting applications for the 2027 Kentucky State Cost Share Program. The program offers financial assistance to agricultural producers for the implementation of Best Management Practices (BMPs) that promote soil health, water quality, and overall farm sustainability.

Eligible practices include:
~ Heavy-use areas
~ Fencing
~ Pipeline and water tanks
~ Tree and Shrub establishment
~ Other Conservation-related improvements
These practices may be implemented in both conventional and organic production systems.

Funding Details:
Approved applicants may receive 75% reimbursement of installation costs, up to $20,000 per year. Please note this is a competitive statewide program, and funding is limited.

Eligibility Requirements:
~ A current Agriculture Water Quality Plan
~ A valid Farm Number issued by the Farm Service Agency
If you need help completing your AG Water Quality Plan or obtaining a Farm Number, our office is here to you help you out.

WE ARE HIRING
The Wayne County Conservation District has an opening for a Program Support Assistant. This is an administrative and technical support position generally under the supervision of the District Conservationist, Supervisor District Conservationist. The position is responsible for processing and maintenance of records related to NRCS conservation programs. A detailed job description and application can be picked up at the Conservation Offices Monday-Friday 8:00-4:30. Deadline to submit application for employment is Wednesday June 24, 2026.
