Yesterday we celebrated the incredible careers of these two phenomenal educators! Blanche Kelley and Teresa Simpson will be greatly missed! Southern will always be their home. We wish the the very best in their retirement and hope that their time is filled with all the things they love most

This week was Teacher Appreciation Week and we had the best time celebrating our Southern Staff.

Our theme was “Southern Staff is First Class”. Each staff member received a passport on Monday and each day they were given a boarding pass to travel to a different location. Mrs. Holley was even the flight attendant serving in flight snacks.

Staff was treated to treats, food and experiences from the countries in which they traveled. There was also daily trivia questions in which staff could answer and claim a prize!

We’d like to thank every family member that donated, each community member that sponsored us, Carisa Lipp for the phone calls and deliveries, our incredible PTA for their last minute runs, decorating assistance, wonderful meal and help with the flower bar. Without these people, it would have never been possible!

Thank you to all and we certainly love and appreciate our Southern Staff!

Tonight we celebrated our Support Staff Member of the Year and our Teacher of the Year at the annual
Global Awards banquet! We couldn’t be more proud of Mrs. Teesdale and Mrs. Berger. They each epitomize excellence, compassion and high expectations. Ladies, we are lucky to have you both.

Student Led Conference and Specials Night was a huge success!

The artwork by Mrs. Deal’s art students was absolutely beautiful! Mrs. Farris brought to us the Sky lab opportunity and reading with dogs! Mrs. Reigle made sure our music students had the opportunity to showcase their incredible talents and Mr. Calton showed us a great time with bowling!

Mrs. Morris and Mrs. Myers had our orchestra and bands students ready for their spring performance.
