When a child is upset, overwhelmed, or struggling to follow directions, their brain is often in survival mode.🧠 In that state, learning and cooperation aren’t accessible yet. What is accessible is connection.

Before giving a direction, pause. Get down to their level. Make eye contact. Say their name with warmth. Offer a gentle touch or calming presence. These small moments of connection signal safety to the brain.

“(Child’s name), look at my eyes. You’re safe. Let’s do this together.”

This connection helps shift a child into their higher brain state, one where listening, problem-solving, and self-regulation can happen. From there, guidance becomes teaching, not correcting.

Easter Fun at Little Rockers! 🐣✨

Our Little Rockers had a "hoppy" good time today! From creative Easter crafts to our big annual egg hunt, the center was filled with smiles, laughter, and so much spring joy.

We are so proud of all our children for their participation and for showing such kindness to one another during the festivities. A huge thank you to our families for donating pre-filled, peanut-free eggs to help make this day extra special for everyone!
