Our little mountain bird has her cage set up
Outside. It’s temporary until our home is finished being built then I plan on building her a huge outdoor sanctuary.

She comes out here for a couple of hours in the morning while it’s cool, then I will take her inside on her perch.

So excited to share that today was Jura’s first time outside journey with me!
Since we’ve moved to Nevada and we are living in very close quarters in an an RV- Jura had gotten very trusting.

She’s allowing me to pick her up without the threatening “my beak is open and this is going to hurt” threats.

I’ve been snuggling with her in bed and today-giant break through! She stepped onto my arm willingly and we went outside to sit together in the shade!!!!

We go meet her new vet next Wednesday for a wellness exam.

We have been in the process of moving from California to Nevada. What an exhausting process!

We are building our home and in the meantime- we are living in our 40’ RV. I’m now sharing that 40’ space with nine dogs,a blind cat, and a 43 year old opinionated parrot named Jura.

Jura is living her best life I think. Even with all the adventures. She’s taking it in stride. I can’t wait until our home is built. We will have an entire wing dedicated to our beloved birds.

She gets to meet her new Reno vet on August 12 for a wellness exam and check up as well as a beak and nail trim.

She really is the most incredible pet. I love her so very much.

We are in the process of selling our home and moving.

Today I had to move jura from her bedroom and safe space to
Our open dining room.

She took it surprisingly well. She did crawl to me right after moving her for reassurance. So proud of our relationship progress.

She trusts me at long last. ❤️
