Project Infinite Green

Project Infinite Green Feasible. Reasonable. Sustainable. Project Infinite Green launched its first pilot program in Lemont, Ill., in October 2011, with 7th- and 8th-grade students.

In fall 2012, the program is expanding to include 6th- and 9th-grade students in Lemont, as well as 7th- and 8th-graders in Lockport, Ill. Curricula have been developed by faculty from local schools in conjunction with private and public sector experts in green technology and business development.

Well, this is quite exciting! Five years ago, students at Joliet Central proposed this very idea via their business plan. They named their technology the “guttern” and the turbines would be deployed in high rise water remediation pipes and underground pipes.
