🍀 September Clover Talk

🎡 West Louisiana Forestry Festival
Fair season is right around the corner. The 119th Annual West Louisiana Forestry Festival is October 7–11, with several youth activities and deadlines occurring before the fair officially begins.

A few fair activities:
🐔 Poultry Exhibitors: Mandatory poultry inspections are September 26 from 9 a.m.–Noon or September 27 from 1–3 p.m. Poultry not inspected on one of these dates will not be accepted at the fair.
🐶 Pet Show: The show is October 9 at 9 a.m., but pets must be pre-registered October 3 or 4 during Ag Exhibit registration. Please emphasize the pre-registration requirement to interested families.
🐴 Horse Show: October 4 at the Leesville Covered Arena. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. Youth must reside in Vernon Parish or attend school in Vernon Parish.

🐒 Mission: Zoo Quest
Mission: Zoo Quest will be held November 10 and includes an Endangered Species Scavenger Hunt, “Service That Sticks” ecosystem challenge, Zookeeper Q&A, conservation and wildlife protection activities, a train ride, and lunch.

Registration is $20 per participant and must be completed in 4-H Online by October 21.

It’s a busy and exciting week at LJHS! 🖤💛

We’re celebrating DeRidder Week with daily themes, cheering on our student-athletes, and sending progress reports home on Wednesday. Be sure to review the graphics for this week’s activities and several important dates coming up in September.

👕 Good news—the Wampus Cats Spirit Shirt Sale has been extended for one more week! Shirts are $20 in any size. Order forms and payment are due Friday, September 4.

🐾 Once a Wampus Cat, always a Wampus Cat! 🖤💛

We’re excited to partner with Leesville High School to help bring back a favorite Wampus Cat tradition — DeRidder Week!

While it may not be our LJH football team taking the field Friday night, these are our Wampus Cats, our high school, and our community. We want our junior high students to grow up knowing and being part of the traditions that make being a Wampus Cat so special.

LJH students are invited to join LHS in celebrating each spirit day next week! Check out the themes below and get ready to show that Wampus Cat pride all week long. 🐾

📌 A couple of LJH reminders:
• All theme day attire must follow LJH dress code.
• Dragon Burgers will NOT be sold at LJH on Thursday. That portion of the LHS theme does not apply to our campus.
• DeRidder Week T-shirts can be purchased at LHS.
