Jessica Dodds-Davis, TBA's 2018 Beekeeper of the Year, will be presenting a class titled "Pollinator Programs to Enhance the Customer Experience at the Farm/Farmers Market" at next month's Pick TN Conference. This class is perfect for farmers, farmers markets and those in agritourism who are seeking great, fresh ideas on promotions highlighting honeybees, pollinators, honey and products of the hive.

This class is about creating excitement about the foods you’re selling and the pollinators that brought that food to life. Learn some unique ways to stand out among your competition, add value to the experience of customers of all ages, and keep your producers (or employees) energized and engaged.

About Jessica: She is the Founder of Honeybee Tennessee, a non-profit she created with a mission to conserve and save honeybees. Jessica also proposed the “Save the Bees” bill for specialty license plates for TN residents. Jessica is a native to Wilson County and began beekeeping in 2015 when she was awarded a beekeeping scholarship from the Wilson County Association. When she’s not tending to her own ten beehives, Jessica can be found saving wild bees and swarms in her area.

Jessica’s determination to educate youth and others about the honeybee has brought her to countless venues, farm days, gardening events, and festivals to teach the public. Jessica received the prestigious 2018 Tennessee State Beekeeper of the Year award in recognition of her extreme dedication to the plight of the honeybee. Jessica also serves as the TBA Regional Vice President for Middle Tennessee.

The Honeybee Tennessee license plate deadline has been extended to June 2019. The current order total is 650. If we reach our goal of 1000 before June 2019, then the State of Tennessee will start production sooner. We would like to thank everybody for the support we have received.
