I hear so often people say they will never be able to retire. Based on the government supply of social security, that’s likely true. The funds will not be enough to cover all living expenses. It’s up to you to save early to reach those retirement goals. Which seems impossible as well with all the other expenses in life. I get it BUT when you actually set financial goals and follow a clear manageable budget every month reaching those goals becomes much easier. If you spend your working years preparing for your future instead of worrying about the next material item that is of little to no value you will be set up for a successful retirement. All goals need a WHY behind them to be successful. The purpose of the why is what keeps you focused and motivated to succeed. Without that it will be nearly impossible to reach the goal. When making financial goals you have to be committed to the why in order to see change. Working with a financial coach helps you through the difficult moments (that will arise) to stay committed, sticking to your goals, making sure to come out on the other side celebrating the success of reaching them! 🎉

How to break this cycle:
1- Get a clear idea where your money is going with a written budget
2- Find areas you can cut spending
3- Reduce debt to reduce overall monthly expenses
4- Start saving towards an emergency fund

What does the Bible say about debt?

Proverbs 6:1-5 says, “My son, if you have put up security for your neighbor, if you have shaken hands in pledge for a stranger, you have been trapped by what you said, ensnared by the words of your mouth. So do this, my son, to free yourself, since you have fallen into your neighbor’s hands: Go—to the point of exhaustion— and give your neighbor no rest! Allow no sleep to your eyes, no slumber to your eyelids. Free yourself, like a gazelle from the hand of the hunter, like a bird from the snare of the fowler.”

In other words DO EVERYTHING IN YOUR POWER TO GET OUT OF IT! Our finances require self-discipline to manage. Without it financial burdens will set in and can be detrimental to our life and our families. ‭‭
