Dear TRIO Students and Parents,
I hope the new school year has started off great for each one of you! I am writing this letter in order to share some important program information. It is easier to share this information in this format rather than trying to notify all of you individually. I hope this is not too impersonal.
With mixed emotions, I am writing to let you know that I have recently accepted a position in St. Joseph, MO, where I live. I will take a position with a new TRIO Talent Search program in the area. This is where I was a TRIO student and became a first-generation college graduate, so it too means a lot to me to have this opportunity. This decision was not an easy one as I love the work I do, the Pioneer Pride in Leavenworth, and most importantly, getting to know and assist all of you! These last 14 years, I have grown and learned so much because of you, and that luckily includes some of your older siblings and/or children. There have been a lot of laughs, a few tears, and tons of personal and professional growth that I attribute to working in the USD 453, as well as with you. I will leave with many fond memories, and even better, friends. I am truly blessed to have had the opportunity to be a part of the Pioneer family.
My hope for you in the future is that you continue to use TRIO Talent Search to your advantage as you keep working towards your dreams! You deserve a place at the table, and maybe, if you want it, the head of the table! Keep advocating for each other, surround yourself with good people who will build you up and tell you the hard truth, and lastly, save all the money you can!!!
My last day will be Friday, September 16th, so please come and let me help you at least one more time before I go! Each grade will have one more workshop with me available to them. I am also available for individual appointments, as requested.
Wishing you all the best and remember TRIOWORKS!
God Bless,
Ms. Courtney Crawford
