College applications get a reputation for being stressful. But here’s what I’ve seen when families start the process early and with a good plan: students who feel genuinely excited about where they’re headed.
That’s the goal. Not just an acceptance letter, but a student who can’t wait to go.
Freshman and sophomore families: this is the right time to start the conversation. Reach out if you’d like to learn more about how Path to Admissions can work with you. 🎓

May 1 and another year of college counseling comes to a close. I post these schools as a way to showcase the incredibly hard work my students did over the last 4 years of high school. They served their communities. They excelled academically and through athletics, dance or cheer. They gave hundreds of hours of their time to band, debate or robotics. And then they wrote their stories and applied to universities. These students will run our future companies. They will teach at our schools and they will invent new technologies. They are the reason I have hope in our future and why I love what I do. Congratulate the class of 2026. They are off to do great things.

What a beautiful day on campus at Georgia Tech!
Landing in Atlanta tonight so Ethan and I can tour Georgia Tech tomorrow! I am so excited to be back on campus! And bonus - one of my current students was on my flight heading out to look at his options this weekend as well. April is a fun month for seniors as they finalize their plans!
Enrollment for the class of 2029 and 2030 has opened. I would love to talk with your family to see how I could support your high school student and their higher education goals. I offer different plans and levels of service. Please contact me for more information!
Senior parents are finalizing plans for their to be college student. I hope parents are paying attention to the new loan limits on parent plus loans.
From Higher Ed Insights: Beginning July 1, 2026, Parent PLUS loans for new borrowers are capped at approximately $20,000 annually. Federal student loans for a dependent first-year undergraduate are capped at $5,500. The total federal borrowing capacity for a new family is therefore approximately $25,500 per year. Everything above that number requires private loans at market interest rates, home equity, or family savings. This is not a change that shows up on the award letter. It is not explained in the admissions offer. And it is not something most families navigating this process for the first time will discover on their own before May 1.

TCU is launching the new Business Innovation Academy, a weeklong summer camp for rising juniors and seniors. The program is designed for anyone interested in exploring business majors.Students tackle real business challenges with Dallas-Fort Worth companies, explore fields like finance, marketing, and AI, and build skills in leadership, financial literacy, branding, and public speaking from TCU Neeley School of Business faculty.
Last night the University of of Texas released decisions. A night of excitement and disappointment for many. Some interesting things to note: UT has made changes to some of their pathway programs. PACE has been discontinued. They are piloting a new spring start with ACC in the fall for a few select majors. They also announced a new preferred transfer program in conjunction with St. Edward's university. These new pilot programs will only be offered to a small cohort this year. Most in state students received the CAP option - going to a sister school for a year and then receiving a guaranteed transfer back to a liberal arts major the 2nd year. This is a wonderful program for some students, not so much for students looking to engineering or science.
For students who were not offered admission, students can elect to join a waitlist. If you have questions or want to discuss your student's specific concerns, please contact me!
