I think this is an issue a lot of you can relate to....you like antiques, your partner likes something more modern. That's the case with this beauty, so I'm working on making it a piece they both love!
The bar top is the first step in this massive project. The original finish did have that orange tinge that can date a piece and not always in a good way.
I took it all the way back to natural and then hit it with 2 coats of Varathane® in English Chestnut. Fitting as this client is English!
Then finished up with 5 coats (polished in between) of gloss polyurethane for durability.
I don't do a lot of staining so I was a little intimidated by this project but it came out so beautiful and I CANNOT wait to see the whole project come together.

Bright and cheery were the goals for these two! They were redone for her daughter's room. I'm still waiting on some bits so I can wrap up the shelf so stay tuned for that!
These were painted in Sherwin-Williams in Honey Bees. I can't think of a more perfect name for this color!

Painting is such an "easy" way to coordinate pieces that don't match.

A classic makeover for my client's childhood dresser. This is third piece that I've recently redone for their guest room. They all got a new look in Fusion Mineral Paint in Coal Black. This one is still waiting on new hardware but it's a perfect backdrop for just about any style.

I love the opportunity to give new life to these pieces! ❤️

It's been a while since I have had time to flip a piece of furniture. Y'all have been keeping me busy! This piece was small enough that I could work on it along side other projects.

This vintage Ethan Allen side table was starting to look worn and dated so it got a classic update in Fusion Mineral Paint in Coal Black. To preserve the pattern on the top I did a greige paint wash. These two are such a beautiful combination. The brass tips on the legs and pull on the drawer keep the original feel of the piece, while the moody floral paper in the drawer give a modern touch.

Stunning makeover for this table. An absolutely gorgeous table but it was definitely showing it's age. The table top was restained in Varathane® in Aged Walnut...probably my new favorite wood color. The rest was painted in Fusion Mineral Paint in Woodwick. This was my first time using this color and like every other color by this brand, it did not disappoint!
I can't wait to see the chairs they choose and hope the family dinners and game nights are plentiful! ❤️

Fresh face for this vintage chest. This is piece number 2 of 3 that I'm redoing for my client. They are vintage pieces that have been handed down but need a makeover to fit in their home.

The outside is painted in Fusion Mineral Paint in Coal Black and the inside is a combo of a couple different colors which resulted in an olive green with grey undertones.

I love giving these pieces a new look!

Gorgeous! Absolutely gorgeous! Complete makeover for this vintage desk. The original finish had just given up on this piece but overall it was in really good shape.

First I painted it in Fusion Mineral Paint in Bellwood. It was my first time using this color and, as per usual, it did not disappoint. It's a beautiful shade of green with grey undertones.

Once that was dry, I went over the entire piece with black furniture wax to add some antique effects. If you are going to try this make sure you do a coat of clear was first. Trust me!

All of the original hardware was in tact so we reused those and the patina with this paint color....chefs kiss!

Some people have very strong opinions against painting vintage and antique furniture. I am obviously not one of them. I think it's a great way to incorporate pieces that would otherwise sit in a storage unit because they don't go with your home. Don't listen to the opinions of others...do what makes you happy!

What a difference! From dated and dark, to fresh and bright. Raw Silk by Fusion Mineral Paint for the win! This is one of my most favorite colors of theirs, the perfect shade of creamy white.
They are still picking hardware to go with this and a dresser so the pieces will coordinate. Can't wait to see what they choose!
