Congratulations to Etta and her weekend performance on the mats earning her special mention in the highlights!
The Dutch Harnitz Memorial FS/GR Combo closed out the regular season on Sunday at Mankato East High School, hosted by the Wrestling Brotherhood Club. The event provided a valuable opportunity for athletes across southern Minnesota to get quality mat time as attention now shifts to the final two weekends of the season with State and Northern Plains on the horizon.
Standout performances on the day were led by Cruz Chladek (12U, Westfield), who recorded an impressive five pins. Bailey Kes (Junior, Scott West) followed with four pins of his own. In the technical fall category, Till Stroud (10U, Edina Wrestling Association) and Mason Adams (Junior, Wrestling Brotherhood) set the pace with six tech falls each, while Mason Freeman (Junior, Elk River) and Ryder Antony (Wrestling Brotherhood) added five apiece.
Etta Mercier (Summit Wrestling Academy) and Beck Johnson (St. James) also put together strong all-around performances, each tallying a combined seven pins and technical falls on the day.
With the regular season now complete, all eyes turn to the postseason. The State Tournament will take place May 2โ3 at RCTC in Rochester. This is an open event with no qualification required for athletes holding a current USA Wrestling membership. Entry fees are $50 per wrestler per style if registered by the deadline (April 30th). Registration doubles after that with the final registration deadline for Greco May 1st and May 2nd for Freestyle.
