This morning and alongside and burned the prairie acre!
Environmental studies student, Sarah Reuben-Hallock was there and explained the importance of an event like this for the natural area.
“It’s important to steward places like Prairie Acre because they’re among the few spots on campus where people can really connect with the prairie ecosystem, which many Kansans don’t often get to do. Prairie Acre has significant educational value to the broader KU community, and we have a responsibility to care for it and demonstrate how important this ecosystem is,” Reuben-Hallock said.
Congratulations to these wonderful groups on a successful burn!
