The Emerging Leaders Committee (ELC) Youth Scholarship Application is now open! Through the ELC Youth Scholarship Fund, we aim to support young leaders from across the country in attending the 2026 Annual Conference in Washington, D.C. This opportunity helps ensure that youth—especially those with lived experience—can participate in critical conversations, share their perspectives, and engage with leaders working to transform the juvenile justice system. We encourage eligible youth to apply and join us in shaping a future where justice is created with youth, for youth.

Applications are now open through March 27th!

A huge and special thank you to Quail Run Elementary School's, Ashli Smith, for the invitation to read this morning to her class. I read "Scribble Stones" by Diane Alber. The story is about how to find purpose while spreading kindness and joy to others. My heart is so full this morning. Kipichi. Miigwetch. Thank you. ❤️

It might be , but all of the spectacular custodians on our LPS team are still doing what they do every day—keeping our schools safe and sanitary for our educators and students.

Custodians are essential to every aspect of education. Whether they're maintaining the shine of a newly renovated facility or preserving the cleanliness of a century-old building, custodians treat all of our academic locations with the care and respect they need for teaching and learning to continue. They keep our schools safe and secure. They are kind, friendly, and make everyone feel welcome in our classrooms. They are a defining part of school culture. They are compassionate, positive role models for our learners.

We are fortunate and grateful to have these wonderful people in our schools. We appreciate you and the work you do for us, always.

Join us in thanking our world-class custodial staff, not just today, but every day this school year!
