The Founder’s Story: Ersa Harvey Eutsey
Ersa Harvey Eutsey grew up in the heart of Dania, Florida with her siblings. In 1951, at the age of 9, her father was the first African American gentleman to own and run a Gas Station on the corner of Sterling Rd and Pippin Rd for many years. Times were hard being raised among the poor and around tough neighborhoods. He taught the importance of values and
responsibility to his children while they helped him in the station, to strive towards betterment. These same qualities made such a strong impression on Ms. Harvey that when she raised her own children, she instilled the same ethics making sure they studied or learned a craft. There were times when her own children helped Grampa pump gas to keep off the streets and to learn self- importance. Harvey has donated her time and love too many causes throughout her life. With the help of dedicated volunteers and the community, she introduces Agents for Community Change Foundation. Our mission is to cultivate a thriving community. We believe in the potential of each individual to develop the skills needed to thrive. We seek to provide student scholarships from preschool to college age, as well as, engaging in adopt-a-school programs in underserved communities in South Florida. Focusing on what we can do, by putting KIDS first. Harvey has made it her mission as an Agent to promote and support education and economic growth within the community.
