People in Hawaii are investing in vintage muumuus, but finding their size can be a challenge. I am frequently comissioned to modify the garments to fit various sizes, either larger or smaller. In this instance, I had to enlarge the dresses. Can you detect the alterations? The green teal dress was enlarged under the sleeves and sides using a closely matching solid fabric. The yellow dress presented a greater challenge. I utilized the underskirt fabric to enlarge the sides and under the arm, achieving an almost invisible result. A delighted customer, nearly 80 years old, is thrilled and experiencing flashbacks to the past. It's a great feeling of satisfaction, and I'm grateful for wonderful clients.

Kamehameha School's Founders Day celebration is held annually in December. To ensure proportional accuracy, substantial alterations were implemented to accommodate each twin, including adjusting the shoulder dimensions through raising and narrowing, incorporating piping trim features, tapering the outer dress and lining's side seams, and finishing the dress's hem and flounce with piped trim. Individuals often inquire about my motivation for undertaking this type of work, and I find the challenge rewarding; nonetheless, it is the client's expressed satisfaction and gratification that truly fulfills my professional endeavors.
