Structured literacy is the key to taking a reader from struggling to confident.
Structured literacy is made up of 3 main ideas
1) Phonics. Phonics. Phonics
Once the student knows the sounds and patterns that go with the letters, they are more prepared to read well
2) Explicit Instruction
Kids need to be taught explicitly. This means that they are not left to guess or learn rules by accident. They are taught the rules, when they work, and the exceptions for them
3) Systematic
Kids are taught in a sequence so that they learn the reading skills in the right order and master those before learning new ones.
If your child is struggling to learn to read or read on grade level, don't let them suffer. Let us help them become a fluent and confident reader

Phonemic awareness is the ability to manipulate individual sounds or phonemes. It is a crucial skill for a reader to have because without, they will struggle even if they know all of their letters and sounds.
