Celebrating West Texas Football Since 1968

At Top O’ Texas Football, we use player statistics as one of the main tools to help select our Preseason Super Teams. Stats tell a big part of the story and help us recognize some incredible performances across the region.

However, we also know that players at larger schools don’t always put up the same big numbers as players at smaller schools because of deeper rosters, rotations, and different systems. We never want to miss a player who truly deserves recognition.

We’d love to hear from coaches, fans, and the community.

🏈 The 2026 Top O’ Texas Football Magazine season is getting started!

Since 1968, Top O’ Texas has covered high school football across West Texas, and we’re excited to begin work on the 2026 edition.

Over the next few weeks we’ll be sending information requests to coaches and getting cheer groups ready to start the annual fundraiser that has helped schools raise thousands for camps, uniforms, travel, and more.

We went with a classic look for the cover this year! Hope you all enjoy! 57 Years... Stay tuned for delivery completions and when they will be dropped off at schools and Barnes & Noble.

1️⃣0️⃣.3️⃣5️⃣ C.E. King’s Dillon Mitchell just ran the fastest legal 100m ever run by a freshman at the Blue Bonnet Invitational. He is the top seed going into the finals. Tune in to see if he lowers this mark tomorrow!

Palo Duro Dons are a fun team to watch. QB Julian Reese VY2 (soph 6-02, 170) reminds me a lot of #11 in Burnt Orange.

In a thrilling high school football matchup Canadian High School edged out Elk City, Oklahoma, with a close 32-27 victory. The game was highly competitive, showcasing the resilience and skill of both teams. Canadian took an early lead, but Elk City fought back, keeping the game within reach until the final moments. Ultimately, Canadian's strong defensive stand in the closing minutes secured their victory, leaving Elk City just short of a comeback. This win marked a significant moment for Canadian in their season.

Canadian better 'suck it up' after this hard-fought win. Up next is Bushland and Dumas. Keep in mind the Wildcats have several 2-way players. side note... Canadian has a population of 2300 ish.
