Congrats to all of the girls who spent weeks training and learning that they can do hard things! They killed it at the Girls on the Run - Las Vegas 5K run Saturday morning! Thanks to the coaches who volunteered their time to help empower these young women and strengthen our school community. We couldn't be prouder of everyone! Girls on the Run is so much fun!! 🏃‍♀️🩵🤍💙

Girls on the Run reminds us that we need to care for our Earth! Happy Earth Day, Wednesday, April 22! 🌍 And good luck to our GOTR girls this Saturday at the 5K run! Thanks to all of the coaches who have spent their after school time volunteering with the girls, reminding them that they can do hard things! 🏃‍♀️💪

Families! We've officially changed our start times for next year! We will start at 7:30am and dismiss at 1:41pm. Afternoon Safekey will still be available.

Doors will open at 7:20am for students. We will still offer breakfast! :)

Free car seat event at Cortez on Saturday! You must bring your child and vehicle for the free seat and install. It takes a little while, so be prepared for at least 30 minutes!

It's ! Our second highlight of the day is Ms. Isabela Caballero, a 5th-grade teacher at Manuel J. Cortez Elementary.

Ms. Caballero has spent her entire teaching career at Cortez Elementary School. She comes from a family of educators and walked into her first classroom like an expert! She was comfortable with the students and began building rapport immediately. Ms. Caballero has taken a leadership position within her grade level and connects with her students and families like a veteran teacher.

We appreciate everything you do, Ms. Caballero! 💙

What a healthy breakfast Chefs in Schools provided for us this week! I hope your student came home and told you all about the healthy and delicious breakfast they had! Thanks, chefs!
