CCSD teacher says $225,000 cut from her school’s budget 10/05/2024

I was absolutely not trying to throw my school or principal under the bus with this interview. I was contacted by Fox 5 News and the Review Journal and simply told the truth. I am dumb founded that some people think it is ok to remain hush hush about corruption. What happens at school when fights or incidents happen with students? They are called into the principals office and interviewed to get to the bottom of what happened. Students are expected to tell the truth. In my third grade class, I teach my students the phrase, “If you mess up you fess up and you fix it.” So why is it that when grown adult leaders in our district “mess up” suddenly the climate of “snitches get stitches is acceptable !? So we expect our students to have more integrity than adult leaders!? Please do not support the status quo of corruption. Speak up about what is happening in your school buildings and be a part of the solution and bringing change to this district. Our families, students, all staff and community deserve better. I will continue to speak out and lobby for change.

CCSD teacher says $225,000 cut from her school’s budget A teacher at Steve Schorr Elementary in southwest Las Vegas says her school’s funding is suffering - after the Clark County School District discovered a district-wide budget deficit.
