All class members in the Reunion email database received an email on Feb 20th regarding the Alumni Assoc membership drive. It carried a link to join, $20/annual. Send a message through FB for the link. -OR- check your spam/junk folder for that email if it didn't deliver to your Inbox. There's still time to join!

Also, John Houser extends the following opportunities to alumni members:

*** Serve as an officer (1-year term) to help us create the foundations and guidelines for our association.
*** Judge scholarship applicants for the inaugural Alumni Scholarship at Wayne
*** Attend the Senior Awards Night to award the initial Wayne Alumni Scholarship. The date is May 13, scholarships are typically awarded at 8:00. The program begins at 7:00.

As the first class to break-in our new high school, it would be great to represent well. 😊

The Wayne Athletic Department will induct its newest members into the Class of 2025-2026 at a ceremony in the school cafeteria on January 23. The honorees will be introduced between the women's and men's basketball games that evening vs. Northrop.

Among the honored individuals and teams is OUR OWN Wilfred Rouse (1974 graduate) – Men’s Track State Champion! [pictured below: Back row, 3rd from left next to Coach Detwiler.]

WHS Alumni Association, headed up by former principal John Houser, is moving forward with a membership drive ($20/annual) -- after completing the form, a link specific to your application allows paying via a Square (Point of Sale) link.

From a recent email . . . "Our focus remains the same—to build a stronger network of alumni in hopes of supporting students via scholarships and staff/school via small grants."

"Besides your financial donation, there are other opportunities to connect to the school—and with each of those—I will connect with you if you express a desire to support students and staff in the actual school setting. Finally, if any of you are reading this and would like to be active in the organization and drive to build a successful and impactful Alumni group, please let me know. We need support from you to make this happen. And I am happy to help gather leaders and work alongside you through the early stages."

This is copied from WHS Alumni Assoc message: The Wayne Biomedical Sciences teacher, Dr. Kristen Short, would love for alumni who worked or are currently working in biomedical or science related careers to partner with her and her students in a variety of ways: Visiting classrooms for informal talks, hosting field trips, mentoring students around careers in the sciences, or partnering with the classes around special topics and special events. Many of you have much to share, and this is a terrific way to connect back to your high school and enjoy the learning that is going on today. You will be impressed.
