Let's make sure the echo chamber is a positive one.

I heard this phrase earlier this week and it really resonated with me. Our words are like an echo that go out into the world and then get magnified back to us. Negative thoughts and words come back more negative.

The 'work sucks' culture can be filled with funny memes and make for some really great sitcom shows, but ultimately I want my words and the way I think about work to be positive.

I'm too busy looking out into the future and all the possiblity that lies ahead to get bogged down in workplace drama.

Instead here's some tips to keep it positive:

1. Look at difficult situations as learning opportunities.

2. Be willing to laugh at yourself as much or more than you criticize other people. Stay humble.

3. Focus on solving problems for yourself and others. Impact and purpose make it all worthwhile.

How are you keeping your work positive?

Small actions can lead us to believe in big changes.

One of my clients recently took a major step toward getting her dream job and building a career she really loves.

She told me that with each action she takes she believes more and more that she will reach her dream.

Dreaming alone is not enough. While you may know that actions lead to making the dream real, it's also the small actions along the way that help us to believe in ourselves and to believe that achieving our dreams are possible.βœ¨πŸ¦‹

What small actions are you taking to achieve your dreams?

People with purpose think at a larger scale. They go beyond current boundaries because they’re trying to hit a higher objective. πŸŽ―βœ”οΈ

As a career strategist I have a higher goal to help other people achieve their best career life!

Have you achieved your best career life?

08/24/2021

Remember the saying, β€œThe sky is the limit!” So why then do we hold ourselves back?

Are you settling for a career you don’t love? Have you convinced yourself that is all there is? πŸ™†β€β™€οΈ Go as far as your imagination lets you. πŸ’‘

Every mind is created as a blank canvas with countless opportunities. πŸ“ƒβœ¨ However, as we mature, we begin to doubt ourselves on what we can become or what we believe that we can do. We start to listen to our inner critic and believe that the limits we place on ourselves are actually true. These experiences become limiting beliefs that can hold us back.

Great people accomplished their goals because they kept on going even after many setbacks. Keep on! πŸ’ͺπŸ”₯ Don't look back, you can only go forward.

It's all about perspective and change.

While most people only know Las Vegas as a place full of wild parties, the outskirts of the city offer a quiet desert paradise away from the crowds.

I'm using my brief stop here as a chance for self reflection and relaxation.

So much has changed for me in the last couple years. Two years ago I left my corporate job to travel through Latin America where I spent 6 wonderful months in 5 different countries on a sabbatical of personal growth that truly changed my life.

Then like many of us last year was a hard year of having the world of travel slip from my grasp and struggling with financial uncertainty. However, it turned out to be a year of even greater growth as it gave me the space for planning and laying the foundation for building my dream career and preparing for my next adventure.

Now I am so excited to begin a brand new travel journal, working as a coach and getting to do what I love by helping other people thrive in their careers.

Las Vegas is just my first stop along the way. While change can seem difficult in the moment, I am embracing everything ahead!

Don't let yourself settle for feeling stuck in your career. Let me help you design a career you truly love.

Do you think of your career as an adventure?

πŸ’š Be driven about planning your career. Climb, explore, make it an adventure and don’t just settle. πŸ’œ

For many of us, our approach to planning our career tends to be more reactive. We may have followed a path just because it was available at the time. We may have fallen into a job just because of the circumstances. πŸ€” Or maybe we liked what we did before, but are too scared to change now that the glitter has faded.

Be proactive instead! πŸ”₯ This will lead you to discover opportunities that you may have not even considered in the past. πŸ”Ž

The wonderful in between! Just noticing how the moon rises before the sun sets.

As l was taking my evening walk, I absolutely loved the symbolism of that.

Even nature itself is designed with one cycle overlapping into another.

The times in my life when I have learned and grown the most have been in the beautiful in between. πŸ¦‹

If you're in a time in your life when you're not quite where you want to be, but still growing from where you've been...

then you are exactly where you need to be. Keep going!✨

Are you loving the journey as much as the goal?

Knowing how to prioritize is key to a leadership mindset and doesn’t have to limit our future possibilities.

In a recent coaching session with one of my clients we talked about how overwhelming it can be to have many different interests and passions and yet only be expected to choose one for your career. The idea that we’re only going to have one profession throughout our lives is just not realistic. πŸŽ‰

πŸ‘©β€πŸ’Ό In the span of our careers, most of us will have many different talents, skills and interests that we can explore and constantly be learning! This is actually really good! πŸ’―

Celebrate that you’re interested in many different things!

While most of us know that it can be helpful to focus on a particular area so we don’t become overworked or overextended, there is a lingering fear that by choosing just one interest we are somehow losing out on the other possibilities. We put so much pressure on ourselves to make the right choice in our career, when in reality our focus is allowed to change and should be constantly adapting to our surroundings. πŸ€”βœ”οΈ

When we decide to focus on one area, we are not giving up the others entirely, only deciding to set it aside for the moment. I see so many people that are later able to incorporate other interests and get an even richer integrated career experience.

As part of teaching my clients how to find hidden opportunities we look at which areas of interest make the most sense to focus on now for the lifestyle, balance and financial freedom you want to achieve.πŸ”Ž

🀝 The helpful value we can provide to others answers the question of why someone would want to hire us. βœ”οΈ

🀩 Finding out what someone’s larger mission and vision is could be a preliminary next step to discover how you can help and what value you can provide to a potential new client or team member. πŸ’― When we understand the bigger picture of what someone is wanting to achieve we can become part of the solution to achieve it!

πŸ™†β€β™€οΈ You don’t need to be a leader to have a leadership mindset.

Being empowered isn’t just about us as individuals, it’s about bringing everything that we have to help other people as well. πŸ’•

It definitely benefits us to be empowered so that we can speak up and bring our authentic self to the workplace. We can feel like we have a voice and have control over our careers. 🎀✨

When we have a voice to make things better, all of this benefits everyone around us. Let me show you how! πŸ’―

πŸ‘ Purpose is much bigger than one job, one activity, or any one thing that we can do. πŸ’–

It encompasses a larger inspiration for who we are, what we would like to achieve, and what kind of impact we want to have on the world. Tangible benefits to having purpose include giving people greater well-being. People with purpose have more positivity and are more grateful. πŸ™Œ

People with purpose not only achieve their goals, but set bigger goals in the first place. πŸ’š

As new souls, we have no knowledge of concepts like money, countries, boundaries, ethnicity, gender, or culture. We are truly a blank slate with infinite possibilities. πŸ“ƒβœ¨

But then as we grow, we begin to put limitations on what we believe that we can do or what we can become. The source of limiting beliefs often stretches back to our childhood.

When we think about people who have achieved great things, it is because they dared to keep going even after many failures. Keep going! πŸ’ͺπŸ”₯ Don't dwell on the past, but rather acknowledge it so that it will not prevent you from moving forward.
