Bliss with Clay | Pottery by Judy Filler

Bliss... a state of mind that brings joy to the soul. Perhaps it was my return to clay in 2007 that brought me there - a perfect combination of moment and medium. Ceramics has fulfilled two parts of my being: one, to bring enjoyment to others and two, to enhance my creative side. For me, it’s all about enjoying the process - creating a perfect environment that touches all the senses; the right music, a pretty candle, an idea and carving an image in soft clay, which I enjoy the most. And although not every piece that comes out of the kiln is “perfect”, it’s fun to be pleasantly surprised. I also love my other crafts such as drawing, knitting and calligraphy, along with English Lab, Charly, and my family. Life is good, but as with anyone in times of self-doubt, fear or insecurity, I try hard to remind myself of my strengths, my abilities and how lucky I truly am. And that, my friends, is Bliss... a state of mind that brings joy to the soul.
