Dear Friend,

Every year, teens across the world light the menorah to commemorate the miracles of Hanukkah. Despite the fact that these miracles occurred over 2,100 years ago, the story of Hanukkah remains relevant today. There is still a threat against the Jewish people. Today, more and more Jewish teens, the future of the Jewish people, are dropping out of Jewish life after their bar/bat mitzvah and disengaging from their Jewish identities. BBYO Mountain Region is changing that.

BBYO teens in Mountain Region illuminate our Jewish community and strengthen our Jewish future. The ruach (spirit) at any convention or AZA/BBG chapter meeting is inspiring: teens connect, cheer, sing and learn together. BBYO kindles a love and pride for Judaism that is contagious and bright.

We light the menorah for eight days to remember how the light of the Jewish people triumphed over darkness. At such a formative time in teens’ lives, when they’re building identities that will shape their adult lives, BBYO is fighting to keep the Jewish light burning.
In the spirit of Hanukkah, join us in supporting the Jewish teens that illuminate our future by donating $180 - or whatever you are able - to BBYO Mountain Region. All donations to Mountain Region stay in Mountain Region and directly impact the teens in our community.
Happy Hanukkah from BBYO,
Lise and Brad Klein
Friends and Alumni Network

P.S. Thank you for illuminating the lives of Jewish teens in our community with your gift to Mountain Region! By making an annual gift of $180, you will be part of the Friends of the Godol and N’siah Club.

Great news and a great opportunity!!!!

On Tuesday, December 11th, Jayme David, our Director of Community Engagement, and Rabbi Zac Johnson, our Director of Jewish Enrichment will be in Vegas!! They would love to have a Meet & Greet with our community, teens and parents, to say hello, discuss programming and answer any questions you might have! How great is that?!

They have set aside some time from their busy schedules on Tuesday, December 11th, from 3:30-4:30, to meet in the Beit Midrash at the Adelson Educational Campus. This meeting is open to everyone so grab your friend, invite your neighbor, say hello and see why BBYO is as great as it is!

"This year, I found my voice in BBYO. With BBYO, I went to Spirit Convention, Sweetheart and Conclave. Through these experiences, my chapter meetings, community service outings and other incredible BBYO events, I learned to be a leader while discovering who I am as a young Jewish adult. Plus, I got to hang out and have fun with my Jewish friends. Something I rarely have time to do.
You might not know that BBYO is no longer a part of B’nai B’rith. In 2002, we became our own organization and no longer get funding from B’nai B’rith. We’re still the same teen-led movement, but we’re undergoing a renaissance. Since we split from B’nai B’rith, we more than doubled our international involvement, from 13,000 to almost 30,000 teens.
And, BBYO in Mountain Region continues to grow. This year, Mountain Region engaged over 1,000 teens, making it the seventh largest region in the order. On behalf of my fellow BBYO’ers, THANK YOU to the Mountain Friends & Alumni Network (FAN). Mountain FAN is working hard to raise funds to support Phoenix, Las Vegas, Tucson and Salt Lake City. To date, the Mountain FAN has raised $86,000 of its $100,000 FY10 fundraising goal. Please consider investing in Mountain Region by June 30 so that BBYO will be around in Phoenix, Las Vegas, Tucson and Salt Lake City for my younger sister and all of her friends! All money raised for Mountain region, stays local and impacts the Jewish teens involved in BBYO in Mountain Region. Thank you for making it possible for me to have these life-changing Jewish experiences.
B’Shalom, Danica Torchin Gorbena BBG, Chapter N'siah P.S. Thanks in advance for your donation to Mountain Region, which can be made online at www.bbyo.org/phoenixfan/donate . Feel free to forward this to any BBYOAlumni you are in contact with!
