Do screens really hurt kids? New research says not much.
"A number of papers in recent years have suggested that screen time might be harmful for children, but there have also been some reviews that suggest those negative effects have been overestimated," said senior author John Hewitt, director of the Institute for Behavioral Genetics. "Using this extensive data set, we found that yes, there are relationships between screen time and negative outcomes, but they are not large and not dire."

TechBrainiacs is taking the fun online! We're bringing our family favorite Create and Code afterschool program into the virtual world after having successfully offering it at nearly 50 different schools.
We know most kids are spending a great deal of time behind screens nowadays, but very little of that time is being used in a creative capacity aside from completing school assignments. Create and Code is about giving your kids the power to create fun projects with technology that will excite them.
Our students choose from many different learning paths, including Coding, Video Game Design, and Digital Storytelling. Our trained instructors are live during our Zoom class meetings to help with technical issues and to help guide our students to create the best projects they can.
With our flexible schedule, you can certainly find a time that works for your family. Sessions are available Monday-Thursday from 3:30-4:30 and 5:00-6:00. Choose just the day(s) that work for you. You can save a few bucks when you choose one of our full semester or full school year packages.
Online registration and complete details can be found at techbrainiacs.com/virtual. Please send us a message at [email protected] with any questions. Thanks!
