Nevada is celebrating two newly certified ASCA-Certified School Counselors®! 🎉

Congratulations to Jessica Houchins, ACSC, of Mater Academy East Las Vegas and Bree Prentice, ACSC, of Mater Bonanza on earning this national certification and representing Nevada among ASCA’s newest class of certified school counselors.

The ACSC® credential recognizes school counselors who demonstrate knowledge in designing, implementing, and assessing comprehensive school counseling programs while maintaining a commitment to professionalism, ethical practice, and continued professional growth.

We are proud to celebrate two Nevada school counselors bringing this recognition home to the Silver State! 💙🌟

September is Su***de Prevention Month. 💜🩵 NvSCA encourages school counselors across Nevada to partner with staff to create simple, meaningful opportunities for connection, hope, and awareness.

At one Nevada school, daily homeroom activities like Tell Someone Tuesday, What’s Good Wednesday, Thankful Thursday, and Future Friday are helping students pause, connect, and feel supported.
