A Baby with Congenital defects.

I remember almost every moment in my life. The positives and the negatives. I tell everyone who knows me that I learn more from negatives than the positives experiences. Anyone can learn from positives. But what happen when you fall down. Most people cannot get back up. They failed life, they failed the test of life. They did not the pushup of life. They have excuses.

I always sit back with a hot cup coffee and I think about certain moments in my life that has define me. Sitting in this chair deep down in the Rabbit Hole I can hear the babies crying. I can hear the old lady asking for her daughter or son at 3 am in the morning. I hear the 14 year old boy with leukemia and metastasis in the brain blind begging to die. It breaks my heart to see and hear the suffering. This is the gasoline that drives me to be a savior in my small capacity in this world has a human normal being living and working in the Rabbit hole

This picture you see is a reflection of my soul and who I am. I remember being called to Neonatology to see this baby boy. Three days old. I have operated on babies that are 3 days old, 7 days old who have congenital defects. I look at this baby and was in awe because the multiple congenital defects he has from the hands, legs, mouth. Can you imagine you starting your life this way? Can you imagine how difficult this child life is going to be? I had to amputate his leg off. I wonder sometimes about life.
Should this baby die now? At this very moment and not go thru the suffering that he is going to go thru in his life. That is a fact..... This baby has life and wants to live because when I touched him. He grabbed by finger with such strength and would not let go. All the baby's do. I felt his compassion for life from deep down in the rabbit hole.
I picked him up. Looked him into his eyes and said I am going to give you the best that I have and save you and give you a chance. As long has you have life and spirit. You have an opportunity to live. I am going to carry you today baby boy. He looked at me and I smiled.
I operated and did my very best and he is a live today. Is his life difficult absolutely, but God knows his soul.

When you get up today and start this day. Remember Dr. Chocolate baby patients. His life is hard. Your life is an opportunity to improve and live thru both positives times and the negatives. This baby's day is always difficult in this world of ours. Because of the ugliness of people and how we see the outside of people and not their soul. Remember to look deep pass the outside and look deep into the heart. You might me surprised and truly learn what love and compassion is.

Time for another hot cup of coffee and go save a life day.
From deep down in the Rabbit hole.
The sun is coming up and the light is coming in. God eyes are opening.
I hope that you join me in the Rabbit Hole One day.
I promise you will never be the same.
I hope you have the inner strength to help me save these babies.

I will ask you one day in the near future to help me and that is promise to save a life.
