For all the kids that have step parents.

When I was 2 she took all my toys.
When I was 9 I hated my step mom,
when I was 15 I liked her a little
when I was 20 she was so bossy
When I was 25 I needed her help
Her name was my name no way was you calling me dawna.
When I was 40 I realized I love her and she has been there for me. Sometimes she doesn't make sense but neither do I still can't spell her last name 😂 she still is my parent and she loved me unconditionally no matter what
Then 17 years ago I think? She brought a grandpa Dave and they both have loved and helped me even though I am not their child they loved me. Unconditionally
So that step parent remember it's not easy for them. You will go through a journey with your stepmother/stepfather and appreciate the love and support she/he has given you over the years. It's important to remember that relationships with step-parents can be complex but can also be rewarding with time and effort. Communication and understanding are key in building strong bonds with step-parents. Cherish the moments and continue to build those connections.
