🖤 HUSKY TONE RECORDS PRESENTS 🖤

“MOTHERLESS CHILD”
The forthcoming single from HABAKA KFJ

Some recordings are released.

Others wait until their moment arrives.

More than 20 years ago, Habaka KFJ recorded this deeply personal interpretation of the traditional spiritual “Motherless Child” in Italy with her longtime pianist and arranger, Giovanni Guerretti.

The recording never stopped breathing.

Now, Husky Tone Records is reclaiming its moment.

Blending Blues, Jazz and Gospel, Habaka’s interpretation carries the weight of a timeless spiritual into a world where its message feels more relevant than ever.

Because sometimes, it feels as though the whole world is crying like a motherless child.

🎶 RELEASE DATE: SEPTEMBER 29, 2026

Husky Tone Records
Independent. Artist-Owned. Established 2016.

I founded Husky Tone Records 9 years ago with one clear purpose: to record and produce my debut album, Heritage Blue.

The label was created to protect the integrity of the music; music rooted in lineage, lived experience, and emotional truth.

Today, Husky Tone Records remains the creative home for my recordings, archival releases, and special projects past, present, and future. This imprint represents intention, ownership, and legacy. Hugs
